Do-It-Yourself Manicure

Do-It-Yourself Manicure

Are your nails uneven, nail polish chipped and your hands dry and flaky. Then it is probably time to give yourself a Do-It-Yourself Manicure.

This great guide will help you get your hands and nails in Tip Top shape.

1. Remove any nail polish with an acetone-free nail polish remover, and gently file your nails into shape. Only file in one direction - don't saw back and forth. (Try Bloom's Nail File.) You may also like to buff your nails to remove ridges and give a shine to your nails, but don't do this too often as it thins and weakens the nails.

2. Exfoliate your hands with a body scrub. Massage the scrub mixture all over your hands, then rinse well.

3.Slather on some hand cream, massaging it well into the skin.

4.Massage some of the hand cream into your cuticles, then very gently push them back with a cuticle stick wrapped in a tissue. Don’t cut or try and remove your cuticles, it will mess up your nail growth!

5. Remove any excess cream from your nails with some nail polish remover, then apply a base coat (such as Christina Fitzgerald "Ruth" or OPI Start to Finish) or nail strengthener (such as OPI Nail Envy or Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator) . Base coats protect your nails from staining, and nail strengtheners help to harden nails and encourage growth.

6.Apply two to three coats of your chosen nail polish, then a top coat (such as OPI RapiDry, OPI Start to Finish, Christina Fitzgerald "Jen"). Make sure you allow at least an hour for your nails to dry, otherwise you’ll get smudges or dents in the polish. If you're in a hurry, apply OPI Drip Dry Drops for faster drying.

7.Once everything is completely dry, rub in some more hand cream. Voila, beautiful hands!

Do-It-Yourself Facials

your own hands with a Do-It-Yourself at-home facial!**Cleanse,Remove dead skin cells using a scrub-type exfoliator.,Steaming your skin ,Apply a mask to your face, again avoiding the eye area,A toner will help to remove any traces of the mask or cleanser,Finish with a cream moisturiser to seal the oil in.....

Do-It-Yourself Facials

Yes, yes, we all know how much better our skin would be if we had regular facials. But these days, who’s got the time? When your skin starts resembling a month-old passionfruit but your schedule is too hectic to book into the salon, it’s time to take matters into your own hands with a Do-It-Yourself at-home facial!

Step One: Cleanse

Cleanse once to take off all your makeup, and then cleanse again. Make sure you use a clean facecloth to remove your cleanser.

Step Two: Exfoliate

Remove dead skin cells using a scrub-type exfoliator. Massage the scrub in small circles on your skin, avoiding the eye area and concentrating on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin). Wash off the scrub with lukewarm water.

Step Three: Steam

Steaming your skin will help to improve hydration. Fill a large bowl with hot water (NOT boiling!!), add a few drops of essential oil if you like (try Ole Henriksen Skin Inhalation Therapy, which can also be used as a warm compress), throw a towel over your head and hold your face 30cm over the bowl. Breathe in the aromas for 5 minutes or so.

Step Four: Mask

Apply a mask to your face, again avoiding the eye area. Use a deep-cleansing mask if you are prone to blackheads and breakouts, or a moisturising mask if your skin is on the dry side. Leave the mask on for about 10 minutes (make sure you relax, don’t run around trying to clean the house!), then gently remove with a face cloth soaked in lukewarm water. If you like, while the mask is drying you can rest a pair of MD Formulations Soothing Eye Gels over your eyes.

Step Five: Tone

A toner will help to remove any traces of the mask or cleanser and rebalance the pH of your skin - apply to a cotton pad and gently wipe over your skin. Try a hydrating toning mist if your skin is dry - spritz lightly over your face, then head to the next step while your skin is still damp.

Step Six: Moisturise

For dry skin, massage first with a hydrating oil treatment (try Aesop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment). Apply 5 drops into your hands, warm the oil between your palms, then press over the face. Massage gently with small circular movements, upwards and outwards, until the oil is absorbed. Finish with a cream moisturiser to seal the oil in.

If your skin is oily or acne-prone, try a gel moisturiser – this will replace the water lost without adding more oil. Check out Aesop Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum or MD Formulations Advanced Hydrating Complex Gel.

Finally, go to bed and get a good night’s sleep - your skin will glow in the morning.

Tummy Tuck In - What You Need to Know
Before You Get a Tummy Tuck

The vast majority of us don't eat a well balanced diet or exercise like we should. As a result we aren't happy with certain areas of our body. For those who are able to drop the excess weight though they soon find they have another issue to battle. The skin may have lost its elasticity and therefore it doesn't go back where it should as the weight is lost. This results in an abundance of loose skin that doesn't look much better than the extra weight did. As a result may people turn to the idea of getting a tummy tuck.

This involves a type of surgery where the extra skin is removed by medical professionals. The other skin is then tightly sewn into place. Not everyone is eligible to receive a tummy tuck though. You have to be in very good health with no existing medical conditions. Otherwise the medical risks involved in the procedure are just too great.

In addition those with mental health issues may not be able to deal with the changes and the stress associated with a tummy tuck. There are plenty of emotions associated with it so discuss this with your health care professional. Some individuals experience more problems with their mental health after the surgery as a result of the types of anesthesia associated with the process.

You need to prepare yourself for what your body is going to look like after the tummy tuck has been completed. You aren't going to be a swimsuit model but you will look much better than you did before. Having that extra skin removed will do wonders for your self image as well. You will feel better in the clothes you choose to wear, including swimming suits.

It is also important to consider how getting a tummy tuck is going to affect your body. Be prepared to be sore for several weeks after the procedure. The full recovery time is different for everyone but you can anticipate at least a couple of months. You need to be patient and carefully follow the doctor's instructions. You don't want to get an infection or cause damage that will take you even longer to heal from.

If you aren't sure if you will have more children in the future then you shouldn't get a tummy tuck. There are serious risks to both yourself and your unborn child if you get pregnant after having a tummy tuck. There is likely to be damage in the area where the surgery was performed as the skin will need to be able to stretch to carry the baby to term.

It's the Ingredients That Makes
the Best Eye Creams Work So Effectively!

When selecting a recipe to make baked goods with, most people are going to go with one that uses the finest selection of ingredients; this way they can be assured that the ending product will be of the highest grade of quality. The same notion is true when shopping for foods items or ingredients in the store.

We all will look at the fruits that we buy, brush them off, check for bruises and rot, and so forth. In the end, we as people want to know that we are using the finest quality of products and ingredients for anything that we put into our bodies. This same adherence to quality should relate to the skin care products that we choose to purchase, but unfortunately in many cases it does not.

Many people have tried a wide variety of different eye creams-all that promise to make lofty changes to the appearance of their skin around their eyes. Namely, the elimination of dark eye circles, puffy eyes and baggy eyes. But in the end, the price tags that are attached to such products that scream quality on their packaging, rarely deliver as they have so promised to do so.

Again, it's all about the ingredients that are inside of such eye creams that will either make them work or will make them a waste of both your time and your money. This is why it is always so important to do your research and make sure that you only buy products that use effective and safe, natural ingredients that will provide you with the results that you are craving. And to further this thought process, products that do accomplish this should not be so overpriced that people can not afford to buy them unless they are wealthy.

So when it comes to the newer eye creams to hit the marketplace, are the ingredients of the quality that will provide such relief? Indeed they are. The best eye creams currently available use a revolutionary micro circulation technology. This helps to normalize drainage and circulation around the eyes, resuscitating the capillaries and eliminating dark circles under eyes, fine lines and wrinkles. It also adds an effective amount of collagen to the blend, which is nature's finest skin rejuvenator.

If She is the Beauty, Then Who is the Beast?

If She is the Beauty, Then Who is the Beast?

We have been brought up in a world where beauty seems to be the most important thing if not the most after health and money. We fall in love with movie star because of their beauty. We learn about the fairy tale "the beauty and the beast" at a very young age then later on as we get older, we see the movie and the play about the beauty and the beast at least two to three times. Our obsession with beauty is so much that we just can imagine that movie actors and TV personalities are people like us. We just can't imagine that these very actors that we so much adore have imperfections, just as we do.

The pressure is so much on movie actors to always show their best. We can never imagine that these famous Hollywood actors have to fight with zits, pimples and acne as we do. The reality is they have to face the same problem that we do. The advantage is that they have a bit more money to hire the best doctors and cosmetic experts in order to continue living in the land of make believe and make us believe that they are perfect.

Many actors, as a matter of fact, have to struggle daily with a problem that many of us only know too well. Acne that is. One of the actors I am referring to is Cameron Diaz. She rarely talks about acne problems but she did reveal in one interview that she has problem with acne and that she always had, despite the fact that she is surrounded with the best nutritionists and health gurus that money can buy.

A lot of the actors will try to hide their acne under heavy makeup and some of them would refuse to take too many close shots of their faces so that their skins would not show its imperfections. One things is for sure, we are all humans, we feel pretty some days and not as pretty on other days.

The thing to remember about the interview that Cameron Diaz gave to self magazine is what she did to get rid of acne. She said that she use to smoke and that is when she had the worse case of acne breakouts. When she decided to stop smoking that's when she saw the most improvement in her skin condition. She was drinking plenty of water, didn't smoke anymore, was taking good care of her skin and her skin did in fact get clearer and smoother. Now we got it from the mouth of a Hollywood beauty who got rid of the beast, her acne, by quitting smoking, drinking plenty of water and uses oil free moisturizer.

If you want to bring back the beauty in you and tame the beast, please visit our website and meet with other beauties who use to have zits and acne and are now cured. You too can be beautiful!

Winter Beauty Tips

Winter Beauty Tips...Moisturise Your Skin...Look after your Lips...Exfoliate...Beauty sleep!...

Winter Beauty Tips

Changing temperatures mean a change of routine, no matter which part of the world you live in. Knowing a little about how skin functions in the winter, and tweaking a few habits, can make all the difference between a dull winter complexion and glowing radiance.

Moisturise Your Skin

During winter, always keep the skin moisturised. Even oily skins need moisture, as the outer layer can get very dry.

Those with oily skins should use light moisturising lotions, especially after cleansing. After a bath, apply a body lotion while the skin is still damp. It helps to seal off moisture.

Look after your Lips

And don't forget about your lips. Chapped lips are often the most noticeable problem for a lady in the winter. Use a highly moisturizing lip balm which provides a protective barrier against the elements.

Exfoliate

At least once a week. This will remove dead cells and allow the skin to absorb extra moisture. The oil which we all complain about in the summer is no longer being produced because of cooler winter temperatures and central heating.

Therefore the skin looses the water which should be retained in the lower dermis of the skin. This can lead to premature aging of the skin and fine lines.

Beauty sleep!

Money can't buy the benefits of a good nights' rest. Your oxygen levels will drop if you don't get enough sleep, meaning that your cells will not be renewed as quickly.

This is when degenerative skin aging sets in. Try to get seven, if not eight hours of rest a night to achieve absolutely gorgeous benefits!

Skin Care in your 30's

The first is to Stop sun tanning! And adopt an anti-aging skin care routine...Limit Sun Exposure,Anti-Aging Building Blocks,Anti-Aging Building, Hand Care,Blocks,Acne,Moisturise,.....

Skin Care in your 30's

The 30's are a time when you've settled into your career. You may have a beautiful family or be beautifully single. You feel comfortable and confident in your fabulous shoes, though you may be noticing a few wrinkles in your path - or on your face. But there are many things you can do to prevent aging, sun damage, and treat your skin well.

The first is to Stop sun tanning! And adopt an anti-aging skin care routine.

Nowadays with women smoking and scorching their skin outdoors and in tanning beds even more, skin care in your 30's has evolved from working exclusively on prevention to a heavy dose of skin treatment as well.

Limit Sun Exposure

Excessive sun exposure in your earlier years has caused wrinkles and fine lines, in addition to drying your skin. So, reversing the damage from your earlier golden years is important by adding anti-aging products to your routine. And for any age: sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!

Anti-Aging Building Blocks

In your 30's, you build on the skin care regimen of your 20's - typically a cleanser, exfoliating product, and moisturizer - by incorporating anti-aging formulas. One such product is an eye cream, which can be effective as a preventative measure and treatment.

Though many products help with darkness around the eye and smoothing wrinkles and lines, it's good to know which ingredient is doing what. Look for eye creams that include Retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C, because they stimulate collagen growth. Ingredients like vitamin K, kojic acid, and hydroquinone lighten the dark circles around the eyes.

Just as wrinkles around the eyes begin to appear, so do the fine lines on the rest of your face.

Again, blame your collagen, or the lack thereof, for dwindling as you age. Because retinoid products, derivatives of vitamin A, stimulate the production of collagen, they reduce brown spots, smooth wrinkles and other signs of aging. Unlike many anti-aging formulas, retinoids' efficacy has been well documented in the research.

Acne

These products also help treat acne. Though you're thinking acne is an unattractive blemish of the past, unfortunately, it doesn't completely disappear in your 30's. Instead it arrives before and during your period.

Retinoid products are offered by prescription only and do have side effects of redness and irritation. Dermatologists, however, say these side effects will last about 4 to 6 weeks after which you'll reap the glowing benefits. Retinol products are offered over the counter, but are less potent and not as effective as retinoid treatments.

Moisturise

You should also start using serums daily, which are said to penetrate deep into the skin and provide hydration, giving radiance to a dull complexion. Always apply serums before your moisturiser.

Your skin care routine will contain many steps - sunscreen, cleanser, exfoliating product, eye cream, serum, and other anti-aging products. Though this seems like way too much, remember you only have one face, so treat it with kindness, and with some great effective products.

Hand Care

Don't forget about your hands. By now your skin is thinning and losing moisture, so using a hand cream is crucial. Just like your face, hands can reveal your true age. Hands adorned with sun spots, discoloration, and a dry cracked surface won't exactly tell the most youthful story.

Make sure to apply lotion with ingredients like glycerin and shea butter. Other great emollient options include using a thick face cream or hand balm. Along with a moisturising product, don't forget to apply sunscreen to your hands.

You can slather on all the cream you want, but with unprotected sun exposure, you'll still end up with sun spots, discoloration, and dried out hands.

All in all, remember that quitting bad habits - smoking and sunbathing - is also vital to healthy skin. Drink in moderation. And as you’re purchasing anti-aging products for your skin care routine, make sure to research these formulas.

Natural Beauty

natural makeup look is to actually be natural.,Complexion, keep your eyes looking young, wrinkle-free and bright.,corals and other light shades within the pink family, coupled with gloss make a killer combo....

Natural Beauty

Being beautiful doesn't always mean piling on tons of makeup. Overloading on cosmetics is not flattering for your complexion and it can be a hazard for breakouts and clogged pores. Learn simple skin care ways to apply makeup in a way that showcases your natural beauty. Wearing the "makeup mask" is out this year, with the new trend being the "natural" look.

Unfortunately, for many women and teenage girls, this means continuing to pile on foundation, bronzer, blush and powder in the attempt to appear natural looking. Ladies, how about this suggestion - Skip the extra makeup and actually be natural?

If you're thinking to yourself that such a thing is impossible, put your worries aside. It is in fact quite simple to achieve the "au natural" look without using too much makeup. Not only will following these skin care tips give you the natural look you desire, it will benefit the health of your complexion in the long run.

With the summer sun, wearing too much makeup makes your face the perfect target for oils, surface debris, sweat and other bacteria to reside in your pores.

Too many women and young ladies wear their layers of makeup all day, which increases your odds of getting breakouts and blemishes. During these sunny days, it's perfectly fine to take your cosmetic applications down a notch.

The key to achieving the natural makeup look is to actually be natural.

Complexion

Skip the foundation altogether. During the colder months, wearing foundation tends to not be a problem but when the sun starts to beat down, this can cause makeup to melt off, causing many women to apply even more foundation.

Instead, sport a well-moisturized face and go as is. That may sound frightening for women who can't live without their foundation. If you're worried about your blemishes or don't feel comfortable going without some kind of cover-up, try a tinted moisturizer.

Or opt for powder foundation, which isn't as heavy on the skin. Another option you can turn to is sheer cover-up. For added protection against UV rays, look for products that contain SPF so your complexion stays sunburn-free. A good quality bronzer also does wonders in place of regular foundation.

To get a natural look without any effort while protecting your skin, Philosophy Supernatural Air Brushed Canvas SPF - Beige is just the product. With a special sponge applicator, skin of all types will enjoy the end result.

Eyes

Unless you've got somewhere special to go in the evenings, heavy eye shadow and eyeliner should be left out of your daytime makeup routine. Adding a good coat of volumizing mascara will set off your eyes in a way that is dramatic yet simple at the same time.

If you just absolutely need liner, use your favorite eye shadow color to line the top of your lids instead of using regular liner. Smudge the line to give your eyes a soft and dreamy appearance.

To keep your eye area looking vibrant without the aide of a bunch of eye makeup, Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Eye Time Complex Capsules contain all the free radical fighting action you'll need to keep your eyes looking young, wrinkle-free and bright.

Lips

Keep it simple. For running errands or taking a trip to the mall or movies, dabbing on some clear gloss will give your lips a naturally sexy pout. Having a little shine on the lips looks great during the summertime so don't be afraid to wear gloss by itself.

If you're going to wear lipstick, stick to light or pale shades. There's no need for fire engine red lips or dramatically dark colors this season. Pinks, corals and other light shades within the pink family, coupled with gloss make a killer combo.

Not only will the Yonka City Shimmer Lip Balm keep your lips soft and moisturized, but it'll also add the perfect touch of shine to make your glossy lips stand out in any crowd.

If you're used to wearing excessive makeup on a daily basis, trying this new approach can be intimidating. The beauty of looking natural is that it takes less time to apply and gives your face just enough oomph without appearing overdone.

Natural beauty is the best kind so always remember that when it comes to the natural makeup look, less is definitely more!

Salon Hair Products

The obvious benefit of purchasing hair care products straight from the salon is that you have the chance to learn about them...The sheer range of salon hair care product is quite large,...

Salon Hair Products

Customers of salons may notice the hair care products used by and featured by their regular salons. These products may tempt customers, especially if the customer has seen the results of using a product he or she might not have used before. If a customer likes the results with a particular hair mousse, for example, or a gloss, he or she will likely want to purchase the product in order to recreate the same attractive look at home. There are two things that the customer should keep in mind, however, when buying a product from a salon. The first thing is that it will likely be on the slightly pricier side, because it is an additional offering from the salon. The second thing is that, by paying that small amount extra, the customer will know that he or she is buying from a hair care professional who can demonstrate the uses of the product and give advice for his or her particular hair type and cut to produce the most attractive result. By viewing the extra cost as purchasing expert, personal advice on how to use a product, the customer will understand that this small investment is highly worthwhile, as opposed to buying the product blindly from a store that does not specialize in hair care.

The obvious benefit of purchasing hair care products straight from the salon is that you have the chance to learn about them--and often try them out--before you commit to the purchase, something that is not true of retail shopping experiences. You may learn or experience directly what the products may bring to your personal style and your hair quality. This service will likely not even take away any time from your day because you may ask these questions while you are having your hair cut or styled, and the stylists will likely enjoy discussing their products. Indeed, you can even ask any clarifying questions about the products before you leave the salon, or learn from example. Stylists will be more than happy to teach you how to take the best care of your hair possible.

The sheer range of salon hair care product is quite large, and there are specialty products created specifically to help customers whose hair has been chemically changed, either through dye, a perm, or chemical straightening. The professionals at the salon will have the best idea of what products might help specific problems with these particular hair needs. They will also know what sorts of products are best for what textures and lengths of hair, and what styling products are needed to create the current most popular looks. They may also know how to recommend eco-friendly, natural salon products, as well.

Although the actual substances sold by salons may be found in retail stores as well, the cashier at bigger retail store will likely have no idea how to use a specific hair product, whereas salon professionals make a living by choosing the appropriate products for the appropriate style and hair type. By going to a salon and purchasing your products there, you can leave knowing that your products are trustworthy and that you know how to use them when you get home to create a near-professional look.

Abrasives Hair Removal Techniques - Ancient Hair Removal Method

Abrasives Hair Removal Techniques
Ancient Hair Removal Method

Abrasive is the most different hair removal method among all the available hair removal methods. With is hair removal method Pumice Stones are used to remove the unwanted hairs from the body. Actually Abrasives are also used to smooth or roughen the surfaces by rubbing.

Some common abrasives are - pumice stone, powdered glass, abrasive hand gloves pumice dust, sandpaper, aluminum oxide. Fine-grained graphite papers are used in metal and woodworking. Pumice stones made from powdered pumice rock are then pressed into solid "stone" shapes. These are available in shops, and their rough texture is ideal for removing dead skin from the feet.

At the time of using abrasive for hair removal, the skin should soapy and wet. Abrasive removes the unwanted hairs from the body very slowly. Because of this reason, Abrasive is not advisable for removing hairs in large amount. Abrasive is done by rubbing the abrasive material like pumice stone/dust, sandpaper etc. on the skin in a circular motion. Actually sandpaper is gentler than the other materials.

Abrasives can be the right method for removing the unwanted fine hairs from the body. For fine hairs, an abrasive like pumice stone should be used. The fine hairs can be removed easily without causing any damage to the skin. Abrasive does cause redness but it disappears after sometime. The result of abrasives last for three weeks.

There is one interesting fact is that Abrasive hair removal method is not used today. It is not popular for removing hairs.

Abrasive hair removal method was very popular in the ancient times mostly by Egyptians and Romans.

Abrasive has both advantages and disadvantages, below they are -

Advantages of Abrasives:
• Abrasive is an inexpensive hair removal method
• Abrasive can be used anywhere on the body.

Disadvantages of Abrasives:
• Distortion of the follicle is common
• Re growth may be irregular
• Should not be used on the skin if there is any disorder or disease
• Sunburned areas are not suitable for abrasive.

How To Remove Excess Hair From Chest

Most men do Chest hair removal with a wet razor. It can be done with a wet razor but it should be done carefully as the sharp blade may cause skin irritations. To avoid harms, the shaving should be done slowly.

Chest hair grows in men at different rates. There is a big misconception that if chest hairs are shaved, they grow back coarser and thick. It is false and chest hair removal can be done regularly.

But chest hair removal neither should nor be done just after getting up from the bed. After 30 minutes from waking up, shaving can be started for chest hairs. The skin becomes tauter and it makes shaving very easy. If the chest hairs are long, they should be trimmed down short with the help of a trimmer.

Skin should be moisturized before shaving. A long hot shower can be taken. In fact, shaving can be performed while taking shower. This will open the skin pores and will make hairs softer which gives close shave.

The use of a lubricant smoother the skin and will give close shave. The razor should have a sharp and clean blade to get the close and smooth shave. Keeping extra blades is advisable as it will surely require more blades as it is not the regular facial shaving. Shaving with a dull blade should not be done.

At the time of shaving, skin should be in a relaxed condition. Skin should not be stretched; it will cut the hairs too short which may result in ingrown hairs. Skin should be pulled tauter with one hand and shaving can be started using long strokes. Too much pressure should not be applied on the razor. Shave your chest hairs down, then upward.

A big pre-caution should be taken when shaving the area around the nipples. This area is very sensitive. Any mistake can cause a lot of bleeding. The lubricant should be in plenty for repeated use as it may get dry and no more repeated strokes on same area are advisable.

After the shaving, the chest should be rinsed with warm water and after that in the cold water. Ice cube can be rubbed. This opens the pores of the skin. Towel should be used to pat the chest.

After that use of after shave or witch hazel is good to close the pores. It also kills the bacteria to kill any bacteria after you shave your chest. But alcohol should never be sued as it dries out the skin and may cause skin irritation.

Talc free powder can also be used to cool the area. Friction should be avoided. Loose clothes can be worn for avoiding discomfort for a while.

Flat Iron Frenzy - CHI Vs GHD

Flat Iron Frenzy - CHI Vs GHD

Ah, round three for CHI! Perhaps some vindication? We'll see.

This posting is part of a set of CHI comparisons Hair and Frenzy is conducting to see how CHI stacks up against other professional flat irons. So, let's put CHI to the test against GHD based on temperature settings, materials, convenience, reviews and cost.

Battle call - CHI Original Ceramic 1" versus GHD Ceramic.

Heat Up

To kick things off, let's look at temperature. Comparing CHI to GHD, there's no obvious difference. Both irons come with exactly one heat setting - 370 degrees. And since the CHI and GHD offer quick heating time, these irons reach temperature within seconds.

GHD contains an internal microprocessor to provide even ceramic heat over the entire plate, avoiding hot spots. CHI maintains a similar level of heat, but it is not clear if CHI uses the same microprocessor technology as GHD. Either way both irons heat to 370 degrees and use ceramic heat technology to maintain this temperature.

CHI - 1, GHD - 1

Material Whirl

Hm, even match so far! Let's see if we can find some differences.

Well, they are both ceramic. So, ceramic versus ceramic - I guess there isn't much variation here either. As I mentioned before, GHD touts an internal microprocessor to spread the ceramic heat evenly across the plates. CHI does mention that in addition to ceramic plates, the coils are also ceramic, producing moist heat. Whether or not these are the same mechanics, I'm unsure but it seems the two are still in close competition.

Then, GHD brings something new to the table - floating plate technology. Basically, the ceramic plates adjust with hair to adapt to every hair textures while maintaining styling ability. So, GHD styles with heat rather than tension, CHI seems to lack this ability. This round goes to GHD for this design versatility.

CHI - 1, GHD - 2

Convenience Capability

Both CHI and GHD promise more than straightening - as styling tools that can create a number of looks. CHI features an ergonomic design, weighs in at about two pounds and features a 10' swivel cord to ease physical strain on wrists and hands while styling.

The GHD design includes curved plates and a barrel shape for curls, waves and flips along with straightening. The styler weighs a bit less, around 1 ? pounds, and features a professional swivel cord, along with an automatic safety shut off when the iron is left unattended for 30 minutes.

CHI and GHD seem pretty even in this category, too. Another tie.

CHI - 2, GHD - 3

What the Reviews Say

Just by comparing the number of reviews on Folica.com for each product, CHI is in the lead with over 1300 compared with just 132 on GHD. The two differ in rankings with CHI scoring 4.12 out of 5, and GHD getting 4.57 of 5 stars.

But on Amazon, GHD has 28 reviews over just 2 for the CHI Original. I figured I'd take all of the Amazon reviews and 5 pages of Folica.com reviews into account.

CHI receives well over half its reviews from satisfied customers who give the product top ranking. Sifting through the reviews most customers seem really impressed with how well the iron straightens their hair, and retains the style. On the other hand, customers complained about trouble using the CHI to create other styles like curls, and a number of customers had the CHI break or experience mechanical problems shortly after purchase.

GHD receives incredibly high marks from over 80% of its reviewers, with many customers raving about salon quality hair styles and the ability to create a variety of looks with ease. The top complaints customers wrote about were the fixed temperature setting and cost.

This round goes to GHD. Basically, even with less reviews, the GHD receives more positive feedback, the complaints seem less serious. An expensive flat iron with one heat setting is still better than a broken flat iron.

CHI - 2, GHD - 4

Final Cost

There's a big difference between CHI and GHD when it comes to cost. From what I can tell there is $100 dollar price difference between the two. But so far, GHD was leading CHI - so maybe the extra $100 is worth it?

The CHI Original has a manufacturer's list price of $179.95, but is available from Amazon and Folica for about $100 less. Some websites offer a warranty on CHI appliances, but the CHI website says that internet purchases from online retailers will not be covered by the CHI warranty.

GHD lists for between $250-300 but is available for less than $200 on Folica and other sites. GHD has a similar warranty policy.

Both irons are big investments, with little protection, but this time CHI wins for affordability.

CHI - 3, GHD - 4

And the Winner is...

By a hair (pun intended), GHD. The CHI and GHD irons are incredibly similar, but ultimately, the GHD won. However, it's good to know that CHI is a great alternative to the pricier GHD styler.

For more information on both these products, check out the product pages on Folica for CHI or GHD, or try the brand pages.

What is the Best Over the Counter Night Cream?

When you compare night creams, product that can damage my skin's health, product that have been scientifically tested to improve the health***Some common ones that are potentially very damaging include:...

What is the Best Over the Counter Night Cream?

When you compare night creams, it's easy if you stroll into your local pharmacy and check out what they have available in the aisles.

I personally tend to shun those products because they are inferior to ones you can find on the Internet if you do your homework and research, like you are by reading this article.

So, just remember, the best over the counter night cream can mean anything you can find on the Internet too and have shipped straight to your door, as long as it doesn't require a prescription....and any high quality night cream shouldn't.

When you compare night creams, you need to do so based on their effectiveness, and that requires looking at the ingredients.

There are two things you should be thinking when you look at the ingredients.

1) Are there ingredients in this product that can damage my skin's health (believe it or not, there are a lot of them)?

2) Are there ingredients in this product that have been scientifically tested to improve the health and appearance of the skin?

We will talk about both of these to give you an overview.

The last point I want to make now, however, is that, in my opinion, a high quality night cream should not just have ingredients that improve the health of your skin in its present state, but should also be able to undo some of the effects of aging that have already occurred. Things like wrinkles and age spots.

OK, first, let's talk about the ingredients that should never appear in the best over the counter night cream.

Some common ones that are potentially very damaging include:

A) Parabens -- these are used as preservatives so the product has a long shelf life, but studies suggest they can cause cancer!

B) Fragrances -- These are put into night creams just because they smell nice. However, they are totally unnecessary. Most fragrances are made up of chemicals that are not good for the health of your skin. They are a common culprit in triggering skin allergies, rashes, and irritations. Save your fragrances for a bit of bodyspray or a small spray of perfume.

C) Mineral Oil -- When you compare night creams, make absolutely sure you don't use one with mineral oil in it. Other names mineral oil goes under are: liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, petrolatum. Mineral oil is used for two reasons: it can make dry skin feel temporarily better and it's cheap. It's bad to use on the skin because it clogs the pores, which, in turn interferes with your skin's ability to eliminate toxins. This can cause acne breakouts, blemishes, and other undesirable skin disorders.

There are many more substances you need to avoid if you want the best over the counter night cream, but these are a start to know about.

Now, let's talk about what you want your night cream to achieve for your skin.

First and foremost, it should have ingredients clinically proven to help boost your body's production of collagen and elastin, which are the two most vital skin proteins that we start to produce less and less of as we age.

Second, it should be rich in emollients and natural oils that do not clog the pores, but instead soften up your skin and hydrate it.

Third, it should contain antioxidants that help fight off free radical damage to skin cells, which is one of the primary reasons skin ages over time.

One natural substance that I discovered accomplishes all three of these things is called Cynergy TK, which comes from New Zealand, but available to anyone over the internet.

Cynergy TK is a new, cutting edge substance used in elite cell rejuvenation technology night creams and has been shown to boost collagen and elastin; increase moisture retention of the skin; and boosts the body's levels of antioxidants.

As far as emollients, there are three outstanding ones called active manuka honey, shea butter, and avocado extract that soothe the skin, fight inflammation, and soften up the skin without clogging up pores or leaving a heavy, greasy feeling.

You can learn about these and more at my website.

Cellulite Reduction Treatments - What Can Reduce Cellulite?

Cellulite Reduction Treatments
-What Can Reduce Cellulite?

Cellulite fighting devices have no cellulite reduction effects beyond draining users' checking accounts or jacking up their credit cards. This is the strong opinion of skeptics and medical experts. And their viewpoint carries substantial evidence. They also point to the fact that specific anti-cellulite exercises are the only proven way to banish cellulite.

This viewpoint continues to gain support, even though the desperate market for cellulite fighting products an services is expected to grow to over 200 million dollars a year by 2012.

In most of their summary references - these experts do allude to the fact that the only way to reduce or prevent the appearance of cellulite is through a properly structured and targeted exercise routine.

Even though the FDA has technically approved several dozen types of anti-cellulite gadgets, it only judges them on whether they provide short-term changes in appearance. Approvals are not based on actual, structural, long lasting reductions in cellulite.

"We don't have any third party research data or official proof about how long the reduction effect lasts," claims an FDA spokes-person referenced in the well known, Wall Street Journal in a feature article: "The Latest Cellulite Treatments Sound Too Smooth to Be True." After reading this article - it's hard to believe how many women still buy into these devices and gimmicks.

CST (Cosmetic Surgery Today) details the primary paradox in this industry of desperation, empty promises and big money:

Most of the anti-cellulite treatment plans require the woman to commit a series of cellulite reduction treatments in order to see any substantial changes. For example a series of about ten visits is the typical, 'initial' treatment plan, and women are 'advised' to maintain a sensible diet and healthy lifestyle throughout the cellulite treatment process.

Skeptics and critics of these beauty-spa/cosmetic procedures highlight that most treatments, at best, may only offer short term improvements, and that most are simply 'jazzed-up' massage sessions that only reduce the ripples & dimples, and the appearance of cellulite on a temporary basis - with no lasting improvements.

They also mention that those women who may have experienced improvements could have done so with properly targeted exercise alone.

But despite all the evidence of doubt, supporters (mainly the companies that sell them) of cellulite treatments state that these non-invasive cellulite treatment procedures are a viable way to drop a few inches, tighten loose skin and see changes within 3 - 4 months.

"None of these things has been shown in any definitive, objective way to offer improvement for cellulite areas," states Bob Weiss of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. "If there was proof - women would be going crazy - and the undeniable proof would be all over the news and talk shows. There would be no debate."

Cellulite device manufacturers stand behind their treatments' effectiveness, however many women have been deeply disappointed. In reader surveys about a few anti-cellulite devices, just a small fraction of women said "Yes" to the straight question "Was the money you spent worth it?"...

- Vela-Shape, 10%

- Thermage, 34% (Thermage is a supposed skin 'tightening' device, but the company has recently included an anti-cellulite attachment - like on a vacuum cleaner.)

Other cellulite treatment machine were not officially rated: Smooth-Shapes from Elem? Medical Co., Velasmooth, the most recent edition of the 'VelaShape' from Syneron, The 'Dermosonic' by Sybaritic, and 'Endermologie' from L.P.G. Systems out of France.

Dermatologist Ava Chambon M.D. of Santa Monica, is very skeptical about what supposed cellulite removal treatments can offer. She states the claims of "This device will get rid of cellulite..." is one of the world's top lies (costing women millions and millions every year), very close behind "I'll call you in the morning, I promise."

A more objective viewpoint is offered by Christopher Zachary M.D., chairman of the Dept. of Dermatology at U.C.I. He claims the dimply fat that frustrates so many women is just a secondary sex characteristic like breasts and wide hips that can only be improved with exercises that enhance the structure of the underlying muscles, beneath the skin that shows the cellulite bumps.

Who Else Wants Hair Removal at Home?

hair removal at home, make sure it is gentle, safe and will actually work..earned that spot, so keep that in mind too... perfect productat home....

Who Else Wants Hair Removal at Home?

I believe, for the most part, people prefer the idea of hair removal at home. I can't imagine anyone wanting to travel, sit in an office, spend a tremendous amount of money while there, all to do something they can do at home. The best companies have heard our request and now hair removal at home is possible, easy and affordable.

A good example of this is a product I use, called Revitol. Regardless of the product however, you can do it at home, when it's convenient for you. The reason hair removal at home is so easy is because products (high quality ones) work quickly and efficiently.

Hair removal at home shouldn't be an all day event or require a days rest afterward. IT should be as simple as brushing your teeth or putting on moisturizer. Make sure you find a hair removal at home product that is easy and quick. You should be able to quickly perform it at home; put on the cream, let it set for a second, remove and viola! Unwanted hair is gone and only smooth, soft skin is left.

No matter what you use to do hair removal at home, make sure it is gentle, safe and will actually work. Be a smart consumer and look for testimonials, guarantees and customer service. Products that are rated #1 for something, earned that spot, so keep that in mind too.

I don't know about others, but I'd prefer not to announce that I remove hair at all, let alone by going out into public. This is why I prefer hair removal at home. The other reasons I've mentioned also make hair removal at home an ideal choice for everyone. Be diligent (or check out what I use) and you too will find the perfect productat home.

Cellulite Remedy - Revitol Cellulite Cure

Cellulite Remedy - Revitol Cellulite Cure--Diet's Role,Exercise: Run it off?,Cellulite Creams and lotions ,Liposuction, which extracts fat from under the skin,...

Cellulite Remedy - Revitol Cellulite Cure

The battle against cellulite has been going on since the beginning of time. Cellulite is a kind of superficial fat that is situated just beneath the skin. The area usually looks like an orange peel with dimples. It tends to form on thighs, buttocks, abdomen in post-adolescent women. Cellulite is not directly a function of excess weight, but a genetic difference in the way adipose tissue and connective tissue form. It occurs in people of all races living all around the world.

Diet's Role

Diet has been shown to affect the development and amount of cellulite. Dieting does not get rid of the dimpled appearance, but a balanced diet and exercise may help to reduce the fat content within the distorted cells, reducing their contribution to the dimpling. Diet pills, sleeping pills and diuretics can all lead to cellulite; oral contraceptives, which increase the body's estrogen, cause fat cells to enlarge, leading to water retention.

Exercise: Run it off?

Smoking, lack of exercise, fatty/starchy foods, and sitting or standing in a single position for long periods have all been correlated with an increase in cellulite. Exercise is one of the best ways to fight cellulite. It decreases many health risks, fights cellulite and is equally as important as dieting. Dieting alone does not get rid of the dimpled appearance, but a balanced diet AND exercise may help to reduce the fat content within the distorted cells, reducing their contribution to the dimpling.

Cellulite Creams

Creams and lotions generally reach only the epidermis, or top layer of skin. They are probably popular due to the fact that they are cost-effective and relatively safe; however, it might require some patience for them to take effect on getting rid of cellulite. The better creams contain antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and ingredients that stimulate blood flow. These creams and lotions have certain active ingredients that absorb into the skin to increase metabolism, condition and fortify the skin and connective tissues, and betters the surface of the skin so it is softer.

Liposuction

Liposuction, which extracts fat from under the skin, is not effective for cellulite reduction and may exacerbate the cosmetic problem. It is rarely effective with surface based fat like cellulite and is more proficient at removing deeper fats from the body which are not trapped in the cells but none of these treatments offer anything but short term relief only. Liposuction is not very successful in treating cellulite and may actually worsen the dimpled skin appearance.

Cellulite is askin condition impacting more than 90% of most post-pubescent women and is very difficult to eliminate completely. But with a some diet and exercise and a good cream and oral system, it can and will be done it you want it.

There are many a cellulite remedy out there, but after our research at the SkinProductReport we have found that the Revitol cellulite cure is tops in it class. Check it out along with many other skin product review at the SkinProductReport.
